What I collect

I may collect the following information:

  • name, both first name and family name.

  • contact information including email address.

What I do with the information I gather

I require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Internal record keeping.

  • To send you information about my products.

  • To send promotional emails about new books, special offers, competitions or other information which I think you may find interesting. I will always use the email address which you have provided and only if I have received your consent.

How long do I hold this data?

I hold your name and email address for as long as you continue to subscribe to my mailing list to receive emails and newsletters. 

I hold the names and addresses of competition winners for one month from the date of the competition, and then I delete them.

I am committed to ensuring that your information is secure. To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, I have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information I collect online.

My website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave my site, you should note that I do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, I cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide while visiting such sites, you should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

Who do I share your data with?

I only share your data with trusted partners who help me to deliver a service to you such as Squarespace, my newsletter provider, and my website host amongst others.

To access free material, I will sometimes direct you to Dropbox.

Withdrawing Consent

You have the right to withdraw consent for Cressida McLaughlin to use your data at any time.  You can do this simply by clicking on the unsubscribe button which appears at the bottom of all of the periodic emails or newsletters.  Your unsubscribe request will be actioned as quickly as possible but will not be instantaneous.

Controlling your personal information

I never sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless I have your permission or are required by law to do so. I may use your personal information to send you promotional information about third parties which I think you may find interesting.

The only information that I hold about you is your name and email address; I have this if you have commented on a blog post, or signed up to receive Cressida McLaughlin’s newsletter. If at any time you wish your details to be removed entirely from my records, please send us an email
